Hibbett Sporting Goods opens 11 stores in October

Hibbett Sports opened 11 stores last month.
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Hibbett Sporting Goods Inc. said it opened 11 new stores last month.
The new markets include grand openings in Pine Bluff, Ark.; Louisville, Ky.; Ada, Okla.; Grove, Oklahoma; Aiken, S.C.; Giddings and Nacogdoches, Texas; Grundy, Va.; and Hartford, Wis. Hibbett relocated stores in Wauchula, Fla., and Victoria, Texas.
"We're excited about adding stores to our area of operation, and we know these states have been great markets for us in the past," CEO Jeff Rosenthal said in a statement.
Hibbett operates over 800 full-line sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, predominantly in the Sunbelt, Mid-Atlantic and the lower Midwest.
"We research the markets we enter to learn what the customers of that area want from a sporting goods store," Rosenthal added. "We constantly update our merchandise assortment to offer the latest in product technology, performance and fashion so that we can meet the diverse needs of our customer's active lifestyles."
The company has been in business since 1945.
